Erick Maravilla received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from University of California at Irvine in 2010.
Currently, I am a research specialist in Dr. Everardo Macias’ Laboratory at Duke University in the Department of Pathology, where I am actively working to elucidate the role of neuropeptide Y in the context of prostate cancer. I am primarily focused on learning molecular biology techniques in Dr. Macias’ Lab, as he has extensive molecular biology and mouse modeling experience. I am also actively learning to process and explore gene co-expression networks computationally, which can potentially identify new leads from Dr. Macias’ previously curated genomics data sets.
I enjoy developing and writing data analysis routines for the collection and organization of digitized data from biological experiments, while simultaneously advancing and exercising my wet lab biomedical research techniques.
